Attack of the Flashpackers
The face of backpacking continues to evolve. Thanks to the falling price of Laptops, MP3’s, digital cameras, USB’s and mobile phones, tech gadgetry proves to be an increasingly popular must-pack item for backpackers who increasingly want to record and blog their experiences online.
According to a survey completed earlier this year by 2,561 visitors to the Hostelworld.com Web site found that 21 percent of them travel with a laptop, 54 percent with an MP3 player, 83 percent with a mobile phone and 86 percent with a digital camera.
