New era in luxury cruises

Following from my post a fortnight ago, when Royal Carribean announced that they will be building the world’s largest cruise ship, evidence of the luxury cruise market continuing to go from strength to strengh is in evidence with Cunard’s latest press release, which reveals details of its latest ocean liner - the Queen Victoria, where fares are expected to be in the region of £8,500 per person for a ten day trip!

Clearly targeting the cruises at a more ‘cultured’ traveller, guests will have access to an onboard theatre, museum, dance ballroom hall and even a library complete with two full-time librarians.

The 964ft-long liner and will be based in Southampton with 16 decks capable of holding 2,000 passengers and 900 crew. The ship’s maiden journey is set for December 2007. Read more here.
