It’s raining in Humahuaca
22/01/2006 - It’s been raining all day long. It’s the raining season in the north of Argentina and we didn’t know it. Where is the sun? Narrow slippery paved streets, tiny little shops selling meat or vegetables. This is Humahuaca under the rain and in the mist. It’s frustrating because we know landscapes are supposed to be stunning around the Quebrada (valley) of Humahuaca. We spend the rest of the day at the hostel. The hostal del sol is very cute. There is one central dining area and little white bungalows with rooms for 3 to 6 people. We meet Alexis, a guy from Paris. 3 different nationalities speaking the same language. Very interesting evening. By the way, staying in youth hostels is great, but it’s certainly not the best way to get rested. People come and go at different times of the day or night. But he! We can’t complain. We met some great people so far. Tomorrow is the climax of our journey; we’re going to Iruya.

It’s a pity about the rain, Humhuaca is a beautiful place. Looking forward to hearing about your next trip!
