To Salta through La Rioja
18/01/2006 - We leave Mendoza in the morning. Already 28 degrees in the morning. We travel with Fletcha bus this time. Very nice company. Suggested by other travellers as beeing one of the best. We get to La rioja at 20.30 at night. It’s hard to find a free accommodation. We end up at the Mira Sol hotel. Very very basic. No windows, walls are very tired. We ask the owner if it’s possible to rent a car to go to the Talampaya national park and the Valle de la Lune. But everything is booked. The excursion costs 500 pesos. Too much for a full day in a bus. We decide to leave La Rioja the same night at 3.52. In the meantime, we have got time to kill. We go to the main plaza and the stopover that could have been a waste of time turns out to be one of the best evening we had so far. A group of 3 girls and one guy invite us to their table. We spend the rest of the evening talking and laughing together. They speak very little english but my spanish got better thanks to 3 liters of Quilmes. They invite us to their flat and what happens there… it’s 03.30, we’re late, we’ve gotta run to catch the bus. We choose an executive bus - similar to a business class on long distance flights.

Pierre: Nosotras tambien tenemos muy buenos recuerdos de ustedes y esperamos volver a verlos en algun momento cuando vuelvan a la Argentina, o cuando nosotras vayamos a Europa. Si en algun momento vuelven y se van al sur avisen a lo mejor podemos encontrarnos ahí. No te hagas problema tu español es perfecto. Y en cuanto a la borrachera, no siempre estamos asi, normalmente no estamos borrachas. Espero que sigamos en contacto. Besitos. Pía
