Salta la Linda - Probably true
19/01/2006 - Lorenzo is a canadian from Quebec. He’s in his fifties. People from Quebec are always nice. This guy follows this rule. We tell him we’re gonna rent a car and tour around salta for 8 days. He’s interested to join us. He’s an interesting guy. Likes to smoke a bit of weed. It sounds like we’ll have a nice journey together. We get to Salta at 13.30. After visiting a few hostels with a cab. We end up at the Prisamata hostel. It’s located 8 blocks from the center. This hostel is 2 month old. Not as fancy as the one we’ve stayed at before but the athmosphere is nice. Backpackers are rather young. Again, a lot of graduates from Buenos Aires taking a long break. Salta is an interesting city. People look more Bolivian than european. We’re getting closer to the heart of the Andes. You can see a mix of traditional architecture and modernity. Salta La Linda is quite dirty. We come back to the hostel and spend the evening talking to the people here. Argentinians are very friendly. If you travel alone, you won’t have any problem breaking the ice as they will often come to you first. We’ve found a car for 900 pesos - 300 dollars - for a week. The original price was 1250. We’ll head north to Tilcara tomorrow.
