Pixel Maniac safe in Buenos Aires

After a useless stop for 1 day in Madrid and 12 hours of journey with Aerolinas Argentinas, we finally made it to Buenos Aires. We got here at midnight and were welcomed by 3 “hot”girls at the hostel. What could be the best way to start a journey :-) We unpack a bit, take a quick shower and they tell us to meet them at the Club 69 in the Palermo Quarter. We head there with a cab (4 euros for a rather long journey. Buenos Aires is HUGE!) and the bar is closed. And no trace of the lovely 3 girls that we met at the hostel. We walkto the Loft Bar nearby. Take 2 big bottles of Quilmes 75 cl for 15 pesos (around 4 4.5 euros)… probably not a cheap rate for a local but stilll a bargain for us. 3.00 in the morning, we decide to get back to the hostel but as i was relying on the 3 girls, i forgot to take the address with me. What a nightmare to explain the Taxi Driver where the hotel located is. My spanish beeing a bit basic, it took us 45 minutes to get back instead of 15. The good thing is that the driver gave us some good tips: “Your hostel is in rather dangerous spot, don’t walk alone here at night, full of hookers and shoplifters!” Great! After asking locals and policemen, we finally get back to the hostel.

We are staying at the Garden House hostel. Very nice and friendly people and really willing to help. 18 USD a night breakfast included. Nice roof terrace where they have barbecues during summertime. Restrictions about electricity. They went through a major energy crisis a while ago. 5 pesos if you leave your lights on. Our room is very noisy, so make sure to take earplugs with you.

    Hey Pierre,

You’re supposed to be a professional traveller dude! How could you forget to take the address with you….. those girls must have been very distracting! I’m very glad to here you are relaxing with a few beers though. The rest of the Travel Library team is missing you but….. it’s very relaxing here without the Pixel Maniac obssessing over the design of everything :-)

If you notice anything wrong with the look and feel of the site you can pretty much assume we’ve messed something up in Pierre’s absence. Please don’t tell him, he’ll be on the first flight back to sort it out. We had to promise every pixel would be checked before he left, it was the only way he could relax.

Anyway.. have lots of fun, exerience lots of things and make sure you review every part of your trip.

    Hello Pierre.

What energy crisis?? I live here and didn’t know about it… Are you sure you didn’t get overpaid for that? We are not known for saving electricity down here… :)

Anyway I undertand you lost your thoughts with the beautiful girls… After all, we do have one of the best cities when it comes to beautiful women, right?

I’ve made a blog for posting photos of girls I see on the street, follow my webpage clicking in my name. Hope you enjoy!

    Regards,
    Marco
