One Pixel is One Pixel
“Which pixels, I don’t see any f…..g difference with your b….y template!” says the programmer
“Look harder man, check my templates and you’ll see that the space is smaller than what you have” says the Pixel Manager
“Jeez man, you’re such a pain in the butt!” replies the programmer
“I know man, that’s what i’m paid for…” replies the Pixel manager with a smile on his face.
Let me introduce myself here. I’m Pierre. 28 years old. I’m the Pixel Manager. My Task is to make sure all Pixels are at the right spot and spaces between tables are correct on Travel Library Ver 2.0 (I know, we are still using tables and cells but I promise you we will use the latest CSS technology when we build the Ver 3.0). Basically, my goal is to make sure that your experience on this website is as smooth as possible.
Please feel free to send me any comments on the site design… we are improving it all the time!

Hi Pierre. You said feel free to comment on the site design… as it happens I think that the placing of Google Ads where you have them now seriously confuses the visitor, and prevents them from reaching the page’s content. Because of the lists used to select countries, accommodation etc. the site gives off a feel that suggests it is one of those pointless search pages with no actual content. Which is a shame, because there is clearly an expanding volume of information to be accessed through this site, once you navigate past the cleverly disguised Google advertising and realise that this is in fact a real website! I look forward to seeing the CSS-based version 3

HI Jay,
Thanks for your comment. I understand what you mean with the google ad. From a design point of view and if i had to decide myself, i wouldn’t add the google ad at all, it would make the website a lot more user friendly. BUT i have partners, and those partners are the guys who want to see the cash coming in.
So it’s all about finding that fine line between design and getting incomes.
Believe me, we’ve playing with the google ad over and over and at the moment, it’s the best we’ve found, considering both aspects.
One important note is that many people find us directly through individual hotel pages or vacation rental pages, and less through
the navigation pages you were referring to. And please note that on such pages, the google ad is not at the very top, but deeper in the page.
And for the user experience, there is the search tool at the top of each page that is getting better each day
and is ADS FREE!!!
I also look forward to the next CSS based Tlib site as well.
Keep commenting, i love when we get comments.
Take care.
Pierre
